Members Facebook Rules Updated

• This is not a forum for lecturing others on various DOs and DON'Ts, personal views and opinions. We're all about sharing helpful information and ideas with our fellow four-mile cottagers.

• We encourage all members to support our advertisers. Without them, we would struggle to produce and publish our monthly briefings and spring/fall newsletters. That said, we know that there are many trades that do not advertise with us. Seeking recommendations is a permitted practice, but attaching tradespersons advertisements is not permitted.

Content:

• Please post only RELEVANT content that will be of obvious interest to Four Mile Lake cottage owners and families. Do not post memes or message about personal interests, pet peeves or causes you support.

• Be Kind and Courteous: We're all in this together to create a welcoming environment. Let's treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural, but kindness is required.

• No Hate Speech or Bullying: Make sure everyone feels safe. Bullying of any kind isn't allowed, and degrading comments about things like race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated.

• No Promotions or Spam: Give more than you take to this group. Self-promotion, spam and irrelevant

• links aren't allowed.

• Respect Everyone's Privacy: Being part of this group requires mutual trust. Authentic, expressive discussions make groups great, but may also be sensitive and private. What's shared in the group should stay in the group.

• Any member found to make derogatory remarks against other members or non-members will be removed from the site.

• Facebook Group users will be purged periodically. Members will be notified in advance and may be required to reapply. Only current Members can access. Immediate family can access upon paying the additional $10 Family Fee.
