EATING SPORT FISH IN ONTARIO

The Guide to Eating Ontario Sport Fish, 2005-2006 edition, has been "changed significantly".

Consumption advisories are now provided separately for the general population and for the sensitive population of women of child-bearing age and children under the age of 15. This is the result of long-term epidemiological studies on mercury intake which have found developmental effects on young children at levels lower than previously thought.

We feel it is in your and your family’s best health interests to use these consumption guidelines this summer.

The Guide booklet is available at the Coboconk liquor store, the Ontario Government Information Centre in Minden, or can be accessed on the Ministry of the Environment Web site at www.ene.gov.on.ca
